Immediately after
graduation, I attended Massey Business College
in Jacksonville, Florida, after which I went to
work at EMR in Sarasota as the Materiel
Manager's secretary. I met my husband, Adam
Segreti, there (he was working for my then boss)
and we married in November 1962. We headed west
in the fall of 1963 settling for a short time in
Albuquerque, New Mexico. Adam's contract
engineering work kept us moving around the
country for the next nine years. We settled
in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for good in the
fall of 1972.
I was a housewife until, in 1980, I enrolled at
the University of Texas at Arlington, graduating
in December of 1984 with a BBA in Accounting.
At that time, I went to work for Coopers &
Lybrand, now Price Waterhouse Coopers. (I
passed the CPA exam at the first sitting.) I
was with C&L until October 1987 when I joined
the Internal Audit Department of a client,
Harris Methodist Health Services. Adam and I
were divorced in January 1989. In September
1989, I went to work for General Dynamics which
several years later became Lockheed Martin
Aeronautics. I spent the next 20+ years there
retiring on January 1, 2010.
I have many interests, but my main passion is
traveling. I just returned from a 16 day trip
to Antarctica and South America (Argentina and
Uruguay). Antarctica was my 7th continent
visited - a milestone I never dreamed I would be
able to achieve!!! In the past 10 years, I have
been to various countries in Europe any number
of times, China, Russia, Australia, New Zealand,
and South Africa. I was in Scotland in October
and will be leaving for Ireland on March 12. We
will be there over St. Partick's Day and yes, it
was planned that way!!! I've also been
fortunate enough to be able to see much of what
this great country has to offer, including
Alaska.
I never had any children, but I currently am
responsible for two Ocicats, one of which was
recently diagnosed with diabetes.
